Qualifications & Experience I achieved a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (Psychodynamic)in 2002. My Diploma took 4 years, during which time I undertook voluntary counselling in agency settings plus a young offenders institute. I continued to gain experience in a private setting, one to one as well as a small therapy group.
I have been working with adults and adolescents in a therapeutic setting since 2000. This includes (face to face) one to one and in a support/therapy group, telephone and online and with couples/family groups. I worked therapeutically in the Youth Justice System for over 5 years.
I achieved a BSc Hons in Integrative Counselling in July 2005 with Roehampton University of Surrey, a course accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
I am currently on the second year of a 3 year MSc in Psychotherapy and Counselling at Roehampton University of Surrey and have just qualified for my Post Graduate Diploma. This course leads to registration with the UKCP.
I have been a member of the BACP since 1999 and subscribe to their code of ethics.
In the interim period I have undertaken training in Solution Focussed Brief Therapy, Dual Diagnosis, Working with young people, working with Drug and Alcohol misuse, and working with young people who sexually abuse. I have a Certificate in Clinical Supervision with CSTD, which enables me to offer clinical supervision to other therapists.
I have also recently set up a project assisting families experiencing crisis situations, in conjunction with schools.
I also work in an Acute Psychiatric Hospital as a Therapist.
